Equipment Features

The furnace consists of a graphite tube which serves as a muffle (within which boats are pushed) as well as a heating element (resistance heated by Scott connected transformer). The muffle is contiguous with a water jacketed cooling section. This furnace is normally operated in 100 % hydrogen atmosphere. Small to medium production runs can be achieved in this furnace design.

Typical Applications

Sintering of Tungsten based materials, refractory metals, ceramics and cermets
High temperature powder processing
Pyrolytic carbon coating
High temperature laboratory work
